They are basically a play on a Florentine.
Here is my very secret and very easy recipe for them:
Ingredients
1 Tin Condensed Milk
3 cups Cornflakes
1/2 cup Sunflower seeds
1 cup Peanuts
1 cup Raisins
1/4 cup Poppy seeds (optional)
Baking Utensils:
Mixing Bowl
Spoon
Baking Tray
Recipe
Add all the dry ingredients to the bowl. Then pour the condensed milk so that it soaks up all the ingredients. Mix it all together with the spoon. Make sure the condensed milk is evenly spread.
Grease the baking tray with spray and cook.
Place tablespoons of the mixture about 4 cm apart and bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 160 degrees.
Be sure to check on the chews every few minutes, as different ovens can vary.
Cool on a wire tray. Once cooled, you can melt some chocolate in a double boiler and drizzle over the top with a fork. Let the chocolate harden and then serve.
I hope that you enjoy making chews just as much as I do.
Lots of Love
